Dear Fellow AAUP Activists,

I am cancelling the AAUP meeting this month.  My main reasons are that I have no secretary for the organization, and I lack a distribution list (administrators have not yet replied adequately to my plea for one).  If any of you know others who should receive this email, please forward it to them.   

My main agenda is the need to put together a nominating committee for at least the positions of president and secretary for next year.  Kristin has volunteered to remain VP.  If Wali and Jon agree also to continue in their positions, president and secretary are the only 2 positions that will need filling next year. 

Protocol says we need a nominating committee to fill all the positions, so we can vote on it in April (hopefully I will at least have a dislist by then), and that I may appoint the nominating committee.  However, I am only going to appoint Kristin, and to name her chair of the nominating committee.  I will charge her to name 2 others for the committee and that she or another member of the committee make a report to the full organization at our April meeting regarding who is the slate of next year's officers at the next meeting.  ALL NAMED individuals must first agree to being nominated.  In advance, I take myself out of the running for any position, except as an EX OFFICIO for the Executive Committee, Committee A, and any other committee.
