Approval of Minutes of March 27, 2001Dr. Roy Loutzenheiser MOVED approval of the agenda with Mr. Marc Burnett SECONDING. MOTION CARRIED. Transfer credit proposalDiscussion was held by the committee regarding summer only transfer credit, influence on gpa for retention, effect for graduate school, repeat credit. It was stressed that academic advising would be even more important. No action was taken. Dr. Cho MOVED, and Marc Burnett SECONDED the following motion: Following enrollment at the University, only grades earned in course work at TTU will be used in determining retention standards, honors for graduation, graduation requirements and grade point average. Individual schools or colleges may enact specific policies for their needs. This policy will be for students entering for the first time for fall 2002. MOTION CARRIED. It was the consensus of the Committee to approve Tennessee Tech University’s participation in the program and the individual departments will determine what courses will be accepted. AdjournmentMr. Marc Burnett MOVED the meeting be adjourned. Motion SECONDED by Dr. Cho. MOTION CARRIED. Meeting adjourned at 3:40 pm. 11/1/01 The TBR has realized that the new transfer gpa policy has created confusion. They intend to clarify these points of confusion for consensus prior to implementing. Therefore, we will not forward item to Academic Council until clarification from TBR.
