The mission of the Department of Accounting is to prepare students for entry-level positions in accounting and business careers and to enhance opportunities for our students to become successful and ethical professionals.

The College of Business is internationally accredited by the AACSB. In addition, the Department of Accounting is separately accredited by the AACSB. The Accounting Accreditation Process is similar to the Business Accreditation Process, except it focuses on a school’s accounting programs. It also includes a rigorous self-evaluation and peer-review process.
The Department of Accounting offers education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our undergraduate Accounting major consists of 21 hours of upper division accounting and 3 hours of communications in addition to the business core required of all business majors. At the graduate level, the Department offers an Accounting Concentration in the MBA program that consists of 12 hours of 6000-level accounting courses designed to prepare students for the rigors of a career in professional accounting.
