CIA Chairman: TTU Accounting Department
Welcome to the homepage of the TTU Accounting Department. Our department is the choice of many of TTU’s most gifted and talented students, as evidenced by the fact that as a group, they regularly score at the 90th percentile (or so) on national exit exams. In 2008 a TTU graduate earned Tennessee’s top CPA exam score. In 2009, a TTU student was awarded the highest Tennessee Society of CPAs scholarship in the state. Again in 2010, a TTU student was awarded the top scholarship. In 2009, I had the honor of lunching with 100 of the department’s most successful alumni which included CPA firm partners, managers, controllers, CFOs, investment advisors, and many other top Tennessee financial people. In 2010, I plan to lunch with 60-80 more of our highly successful alum.
Accounting is unsurpassed in the number of on-campus interviews for its students. In 2009, 32 employers attended our annual Meet-the-Firms event and a number of job offers resulted. In senior exit interviews the high marks our students consistently give our programs is a strong and resounding vote of confidence. In addition, TTU is the only separately accredited AACSB accounting program in the region to offer the convenience of 24 hours of upper-division accounting courses totally online.
