Department of Accounting: Program of Continuing Education for
practitioners.
The Department offers a continuing program of education that meets
Tennessee State Board of Accountancy requirements. At present the
department offers three continuing education opportunities each
year:
A Tennessee Business Tax Seminar in September. This seminar is
a joint effort of the Tennessee Department of Revenue and our Department
of Accounting. The seminar presents the latest information on sales
taxes, Tennessee income taxes, Tennessee Business tax credits and
more. Qualifies for 8 hours of continuing education credit.
An annual update for churches and clergyman. This seminar (2 hour)
provides the latest on accounting and tax issues facing churches
and members of the clergy. This seminar is offered every year in
January. Qualifies for 2 hours of continuing education credit.
An annual technology update for Accounting practitioners. This
seminar is offered each year in August and updates practitioners
on the latest technology that is being used to maximize productivity.
Qualifies for 8 hours of continuing education credit.
An annual ethics update for CPAs. Includes one hour of Tennessee
specific ethics. Qualifies for 4 hours of continuing education
credit.
