Summary of Proceedings:

 

Approved agenda.

 

Approved minutes of September 8, 2004, as distributed.

 

Approved Constitution “Student Conservation Biology Association” at Tech.

 

Approved changes to Athletics Department Policies and Procedures for Intercollegiate Athletics Manual.

 

Proceedings:

 

Dr. Giesbrecht-Bettoli called the meeting to order.

 

President Bell moved to approve the agenda of November 10, 2004, as distributed.  Mr. Wilson seconded.  Motion PASSED.

 

Motion to approve the minutes of September 8, 2004, was made by Professor M. Johnson and seconded by President Bell.  Minutes were APPROVED as distributed.

 

Mr. Hayes moved to approve the Constitution of the “Student Conservation Biology Association” at Tech.  The motion was duly seconded and APPROVED.

 

President Bell moved approval of the proposed changes to the Athletics Department Policies and Procedures Manual for Intercollegiate Athletics as distributed.  The motion was duly seconded.  A brief discussion concerning the terminology used in the nondiscrimination statement, color versus ethnicity, was held.  The Council agreed that Athletics Director Mark Wilson be given the authority to make an editorial change if the wording needs to be substituted for consistency in University related policies and procedures.  The motion PASSED.

 

Motion to adjourn by President Bell and seconded by Dr. James.  The meeting ADJOURNED at 3:50 p.m.
