Summary of Proceedings:

Approved agenda.

Approved minutes of November 14, 2001, as distributed.

Approved Constitution for One World of Tennessee Tech University.

Approved Constitution for Tennessee Tech Cycling Club.

Approved procedural revisions for Commission on the Status of Women.

Other such matters.

Proceedings

Chairman Mancil Johnson called the meeting to order at 3 p.m.

Dr. Burduck moved to approve the agenda of February 27, 2002, as distributed.  Dr. Zagumny seconded.  MOTION PASSED 

Motion to approve the minutes of November 14, 2001, was made by Dr. Cho and seconded by Dr. Burduck.  Minutes were APPROVED.

Dr. Zagumny moved approval of the Constitution for One World of Tennessee Tech University.  The motion was duly seconded and APPROVED.

Motion to approve the Constitution for the Tennessee Tech Cycling Club was made by Dr. Zagumny.  The motion was duly seconded and APPROVED.

Dr. Zagumny moved to approve the procedural revisions for the Commission on the Status of Women as submitted.  Dr. Whitney seconded, and the MOTION PASSED.

Dr. Zagumny inquired if anything had been received from the state attorney’s office relative to the white paper on religious freedom.  Mr. Boucher reported that the request had been submitted but that no response has been received at present.

A question concerning the absence of approved signage in the cafeteria was asked.  Dr. Nivens reported that he would follow up on the matter.

Chairman Johnson enlightened the group on the history of the first African-American student at Tennessee Tech in 1938.

Motion by Dr. Zagumny to adjourn.  Dr. Burduck seconded.  The meeting ADJOURNED at 3:15 p.m.
