Summary of Proceedings:

 

Approved agenda.

 

Approved minutes of April 7, 2004, as distributed.

 

Approved Constitution “Students for Human Rights Club” at Tech.

 

Approved addendum to Faculty Research Program Guidelines.

 

Proceedings:

 

Dr. Giesbrecht-Bettoli, chair of the Administrative Council, called the meeting to order.

 

Professor Johnson moved to approve the agenda of September 8, 2004, as distributed.  Ms. Pogue seconded.  Motion PASSED.

 

Motion to approve the minutes of April 7, 2004, was made by Professor Lee and seconded by Dr. Laird.  Minutes were APPROVED as distributed.

 

Professor Johnson moved to approve the Constitution of the “Students for Human Rights Club” at Tech.  Dr. Eisen seconded.  The motion PASSED.

 

Motion by Dr. G. Johnson to approve the addendum to the Faculty Research Program Guidelines as distributed and Dr. Timmerman seconded.  Dr. Otuonye explained that the guidelines were developed to help new faculty get established in the funding arena for grants.  The plan is to boost the funding for new faculty to 60 percent.  Dr. Eisen made a friendly amendment to the addendum to “exclude” the professorial statement in section A.  The amendment was accepted as such.  The motion PASSED.

 

Motion to adjourn by Dr. Arce.  Motion was duly seconded.  The meeting adjourned at 3:50 p.m.
