Received SACS accreditation review update.
Proceedings:
Motion to approve the agenda of February 22, 2006, as distributed was made by Mr. Wilson and seconded by Mr. Burnett. Motion APPROVED.
A motion to approve the minutes of January 25, 2006, was made by Professor Johnson and seconded by Mrs. Maxwell. Motion APPROVED.
Dr. McGee moved to approve the Constitution for the “Future Elementary Teachers Math/Science Club” at Tennessee Tech. President Bell seconded. Motion APPROVED.
Professor Lee moved to approve the procedural revisions to the Student Affairs Committee. President Bell seconded. Motion APPROVED.
Drs. James, McGee, and Stein, reported on the SACS accreditation review process currently underway. The focused report and the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) were submitted on February 22. There will be workshops held across campus to prepare for the on-site visit scheduled for April 11-13. The QEP is online for review, and everyone is encouraged to read the executive summary. SACS expectations are higher now than in the past and many hours have been spent preparing for the review. The 11 member committee will be visiting campus April 11-13 to complete the on-site review. A decision on TTU’s compliance will be announced at the December 2006 annual SACS meeting.
Motion to adjourn by President Bell and seconded by Mr. Wilson. The meeting ADJOURNED at 3:50 p.m.
