7. Tobacco Use Policy

The following applies to the use of tobacco products (smoke and smokeless) within buildings and vehicles owned and/or operated exclusively by Tennessee Technological University.  The university intends to provide a healthy environment free from tobacco by-products for all users of its indoor facilities and university-owned vehicles.  

7.1 Policy

Tennessee Technological University prohibits smoking and use of all forms of tobacco products in all university buildings and university-owned vehicles.  Smoking and other tobacco usage is prohibited within twenty-five (25) feet of any point of entry of any campus building.  This policy is in effect at all times.

Smoking and other tobacco usage is prohibited in any and all residential facilities or within fifty (50) feet of any point of entry of a residential facility on campus.  This policy is in effect at all times.

7.2 Enforcement 

The person(s) responsible for activities within a particular room, facility, or program area will ensure that smoking procedures are followed.  If necessary, disciplinary actions will be initiated consistent with University policy.
