Choosing the right university can be a tough decision. One of the best ways to learn about Tennessee Tech is to visit the campus. Visitors can see first-hand why Tennessee Tech ranked among the "top public universities in the South" by U.S. News and World Report in the 2010 edition of America's Best Colleges and as one of the "Best in the Southeast" by The Princeton Review.

During fall, spring and summer semesters, Tennessee Tech offers scheduled campus visits starting at both 9 a.m. CST and 12 noon CST each weekday (summer afternoon visits start at 11:45 a.m.). Plan to be on campus for about four and a half hours for the entire visit. Parents and family are welcome to come and visit the campus with their student.

While on campus, you'll be a VIP visitor. You’ll have an opportunity to talk with an admissions counselor who can help you navigate the oceans of information about topics ranging from entrance requirements to student life.

A one-hour walk around the campus, led by our Student Admissions Representatives, allows you to explore the campus and get a student's perspective of what it is like to be a student at Tennessee Tech!

Based on the information that you give us in your reservation, we'll attempt to schedule a short meeting with a departmental representative from your intended major (or if unavailable, the College of Arts & Sciences Student Advising Center).

Please note that tours of our Appalachian Center for Craft are done separately through Gail Gentry at 931-372-6897 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

For Transfer students, please understand that this is not usually an official advisement session. For this, please contact your specific department directly. (Please note: Availability of departmental visits are limited during the summer due to the reduced number of faculty on-campus.)

Finally, you’ll have a chance to eat lunch on campus*, tour the residence halls (dorms), and receive a free Tennessee Tech t-shirt after finishing all of the planned activities.

.

* You may visit our dining facilities at your convenience; one free lunch pass provided per prospective student; $6 for each guest in the MarketPlace; cost will vary in Swoops Food Court.

** Please schedule your visit as soon as possible since meeting space is limited. If you are planning a visit in October, please reserve your session soon and plan on visiting with several other families due to students' Fall Breaks

Whether you have a group from a school, church or other organization, we'd love to have your group visit our campus. These group tours give prospective students the essential information about Tennessee Tech University and usually include a group meeting with an admissions counselor and a walking tour of the university. Groups may choose to eat in our dining facilities at a group rate. Other accommodations (based on specific group characteristics) may also be arranged.

Many students that come on a group visit will want to schedule a VIP Campus Visit on their own or with their family at a later date. (Click on the tab, "What's included in a visit?")

Please note that our availability to host group visits during the months of October and March is limited due to a high number of individual families visiting during fall and spring breaks. We ask that you attempt to schedule group visits outside of this time.

If you are interested in scheduling a group visit, please contact Ben Higgins, our Campus Visit Coordinator, at 931-372-3672 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
