Mission

The mission of the College of Agricultural and Human Sciences is to promote a strong academic environment for its students, faculty, staff and clientele. The College supports the preservation and expansion of knowledge in agriculture, human ecology, and nursing that improves quality of life. The College is equally supportive of the education of men, women and minorities.

Teaching, research/scholarly activities, and public service form a foundation for College goals:

  • Providing baccalaureate degrees in the fields of agriculture, human ecology, and nursing that prepare students for entry and advancement in those fields.
  • Providing a masters of science degree in nursing through on-line technology to extend opportunities in health care and education.
  • Providing curricula that prepare agriculture, human ecology, and nursing students for entry and advancement in graduate/professional programs.
  • Providing educational experiences that enhance agriculture, human ecology, and nursing student leadership and social development.
  • Conducting scholarly and public service activities that will enhance the fields of agriculture, human ecology, and nursing.

Vision Statement

The College of Agricultural and Human Sciences will promote excellence in teaching, foster life-long learning, prepare students for success in a global economy, and enable students to increase their knowledge and critical thinking skills as well as grow as individuals to realize their full potential. The College will encourage and support faculty and students engaging in scholarly activities that benefit people of the region, state, and nation. The College will render service to individuals, families and communities in the pursuit of improving quality of life.

The College intends to offer the State's superior programs in agriculture, human ecology, and nursing.
