Lambda Alpha Sigma
Responding to the need for an organization to support women studying and working in the field of agriculture, a professional sorority known as Lambda Alpha Sigma was founded at Tennessee Tech. The membership consists of students studying in the School of Agriculture at TTU who are interested in educating women concerning the opportunities in agriculture. Career seminars are held each spring to help members and interested high school seniors learn about opportunities available to them. Successful alumnae of the School of Agriculture visit campus to share their experiences and give advice on career placement. Community service activities are scheduled each semester as are joint activities with other School of Agriculture clubs. The sorority supports the development of Lambda Alpha Sigma chapters at other universities and encourages those interested to contact TTU's LAS President.
