| Alumni
Advisory Board
The Alumni Advisory Board was formed in Spring 2002. In a change
from the former Executive Committee of the TTU Alumni Association,
this Board is comprised of 12 TTU alumni, representing all six colleges
and every decade from the 1950s through the 1990s. The Board meets
a minimum of twice a year, with subcommittees meeting more often
as necessary. They are involved in all major decisions relating
to Tennessee Tech Alumni Relations, including choosing Alumni Award
winners, and offering products and services to alumni. Julie Galloway
is currently serving as president of the Alumni Association, and
Tracey Duncan, director of Alumni Relations, serves as executive
director. |

Todd Blandin (business
'92)
Blandin is public relations director for Bright from the Start:
Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. Prior to joining
Bright, he worked in a variety of marketing and communications positions
in corporate, non-profit and agency environments. A Sigma Chi alumnus,
he was recently appointed an advisory member of the First Lady's
Children's Cabinet. Blandin, who is also involved with Cliff Valley
School and the American Red Cross, is married to Kathy Blum Blandin. |

Julie Mills Galloway
(political science '92, M.A. '95)
Galloway is well acquainted with Alumni Relations, having spent
more than 10 years in the TTU Alumni Association. Director of our
Division of Basic Business, she also advises the College of Business
Administration Student Ambassadors and our collegiate 4-H chapter.
Before this, Julie was an area coordinator for our Division of Extended
Education. She’s also a past president of the Tennessee 4-H
Alumni Association. Julie lives in Cookeville and is married to
Chris Galloway (business management '92). |

Alan Guinn (history
'75)
CEO and managing director of The Guinn Consultancy Group, Inc.,
Guinn is recognized as an expert across a variety of businesses.
GCG offers seminar and training content in human resources, finance
and leadership/management to industry and government; the consultancy
handles a variety of licensing of both retail and intellectual property.
Guinn has licensed his "Psyched for..." series of book
titles since the success of his first book, Psyched for Life.
He and his wife, Denise, live in Bristol, Tenn. |

Randy Keifer (civil
engineering '85)
Keifer is senior project manager at Stone Brothers Welding in Cookeville
and worked in Nashville in concrete construction for five years
before moving back to Cookeville. A graduate of Leadership Putnam,
Citizens Police Academy and Citizens Fire Academy, he's currently
a member of WCTE-TV, the Chamber of Commerce and Cookeville United
Soccer Club. He's married to Melinda Keifer, home economics ’83. |

Becky Roberson
Magura (education '80, M.S.'81),
Magura is president and general manager of WCTE-TV, Cookeville's
PBS affiliate, produced "Robbin Esther's Secret Box,"
an award-winning series on child sexual abuse which is in national
distribution. She's past board chair of the National Educational
Telecommunications Association Center for Instructional Communications;
locally, she's a member of the Lazarus House Hospice Board, Putnam
County Literacy Council, Upper Cumberland Council on Children and
Youth, Leadership Putnam, Bryan Symphony Association and Putnam
County Health Council. |

Betty Lawson
McDowell (chemistry '51)
McDowell went on to get a master's in inorganic chemistry from
UT-Knoxville in 1954. After graduating, she worked for Oak Ridge
National Laboratory until June 1990. She also did contract work
in technical abstracting and indexing
from 1965 until 1990 for various companies. She and her husband,
W. Jackson (Jack) McDowell (chemistry '51) operated East Tennessee
Radiometric Analytical Chemicals
together until his death in 1994. Betty, who lives in Knoxville,
retired from the company in 1996. |

Lem McSpadden
(industrial technology '71)
McSpadden is owner of A+ Home Inspection Services, a company that
provides impartial inspections for both buyers and sellers, and
owner of EnviroTENN, a mold and allergy testing and sampling service
that assists home owners in determining mold and allergy related
issues in the indoor environment. Before launching both ventures
in 2001 and 2003 respectfully, Lem retired from Fleetguard after
30 years. Along with his wife, Donna (business managment '75), Lem
received the first-ever TBR Chancellor's Award for Philanthropy
in April 2003. The couple resides in Cookeville. |

Tammy Hayes Reynolds
(business management '97, M.A. '00)
Reynolds is a generalist for Human Resources at Summit Medical
Center in Hermitage, Tenn. Previously, she was employment manager
for Human Resources at Tennessee Tech, was active on many university
committees and served as advisor to three student community-service
organizations. Tammy lives in Cookeville with her husband and two
children. |

Eddie Roberts
(agribusiness economics '85)
Roberts began his career with Mid-State Cooperative in Columbiana,
Ala. Eddie returned to Cleveland, Tenn., in 1988 to join Bradley
Cooperative as assistant manager; he was named general manager in
1995. He is currently general manager and treasurer of the Bradley/Bledsoe
Counties
Farmer’s Cooperative. Eddie's also a board member of the Bradley
County Tri-State Exhibition Center as well as the
Bradley County Agricultural Hall of Fame. He is married to Ann Gibson
Roberts (biology '88). |

Bedelia Hicks
Russell (nursing '97)
Russell a TTU assistant professor of nursing, began her
career as a staff nurse at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville,
and moved on to Vanderbilt University Medical Center
before returning to Cookeville to teach. She earned a
master’s from Vanderbilt and is a certified pediatric nurse
practitioner and operating room nurse. |

Don Welch
(business '63)
Welch recently retired from W.R. Whitaker & Company in
Cookeville after 35 years. A past member of the Cookeville/
Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors,
Model Cities Program Board, College of Business Foundation,
Optimist Club and Cookeville Jaycees, he's married to Marcia Whitaker
Welch (education ’63). |

Randy Wilmore
(business '82)
Wilmore is Chief Executive Officer of Mid-Tennessee Bone and Joint
Clinic in Columbia, Tenn., and currently serves as Vice President
of the Tennessee Medical Group Management Association. After 10
years in the banking industry, he moved to healthcare, serving as
administrator of the Frist Clinic, Clarksville Surgical Associates
and Nashville Medical Group and spent several years as a healthcare
consultant. Wilmore is past National TTU Alumni President and currently
is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Columbia. He serves on the boards
of the Maury County Family YMCA and the Maury County Arthritis Advisory
Council and is a participant in Leadership Maury. He is married
to Lucinda (Cindy) Jeffreys Wilmore and is the father of Taylor
and Ryan. |
