Advanced Cource
During the last two years of the ROTC program, you will take the
Advanced Course covering subjects concentrating on leadership development.
In addition to required Military Science courses, those students
seeking a commission must take courses in written communications,
military history, and computer literacy.
Classes during the third year in ROTC are designed to prepare the
student for ROTC Advanced Camp. These classes include such topics
as Small Unit Tactics, briefings, extensive land navigation and rifle
marksmanship, and advanced physical conditioning.
Classes during the final year of ROTC teach the perspective new
lieutenants those skills they will need after commissionning. These
topics include: Military Ethics, briefing skills, proper military
writing, and numerous others necessary to the new lieutenant.
To be eligible for admission to the advanced course, students must
have successfully completed the two-year Basic Course, Basic Summer
Camp, or earned officially recognized equivalent credit. They must
be selected by the Professor of Military Science and sign a contract
agreeing to complete the Advanced Course and to accept a commission,
if offered.
