Kandy Thevar International Engineering Graduate Student Scholarship


Award amount: $1500 (minimum)

Criteria for award


1. Financial need of the applicant to pursue the degree objective further will be the primary criterion.
2. Must be a current graduate student in good standing, having completed a minimum of nine (9) credit hours of graduate course work applicable to the degree program, in accordance with current institutional policies.
3. Should be in possession of a valid student visa status for the duration of studies at TTU.
4. Secondary preference to be given to students from Annamalai University, India, from which Dr. Deivanayagam graduated.

Application procedure

Send the duly filled application form (attached) along with the following documents to Associate Dean of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Research on or before Monday, January 30, 2012.

1. Copy of TTU transcript as of January 2012.
2. Copy of the valid student visa/I-20.
3. A one page statement by the applicant documenting the circumstances leading to the financial need in order to complete the studies at TTU.
4. If applicable, proof of graduation from Annamalai University, India.
5. A letter of recommendation from the chairperson of the department in which the student is enrolled.

Selection and Announcement of the Scholarship

Scholarship awardees will be selected by a committee consisting of,
1. Associate Dean of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Research (Chair)
2. Associate VP for Research and Graduate Studies
3. Director of International Student Affairs

The selection will be announced in a suitable public forum before the end of February, 2012.
