Quality Assurance Liaison for Pacesetters, Inc.
This is my second year serving on the Board of Trustees.
I like their reputation as being a school that is focused on learning. They are also close to my home and my daughter can commute making it easier to afford.
I have always been involved in Erin's education. I have served as PTO president, gone on field trips, and tried to be active in her life. I wanted to continue this at Tennessee Tech. I think that a parent’s involvement helps students to stay focused.
Other parents have told me that they see the TTUPA as a link to other parents that have already "been there" and can assist them in their transition from High School to college. Personally I feel when you have an involved parent group you have more involved students.
I would like to see the Parent Association become more represented in events at the school. I would like to see the Parent Association take a more active role in SOAR by sharing personal stories. I also think that the Parent Association might be a helpful resource in recruiting.
I have one daughter who is an English major at TTU.
The cost of education is the most. Most parents want their child to have a high quality education, but are unable to afford this. I think parents struggle with putting this debt on their children if they cannot afford to cover these expenses. Then after graduation there are no jobs.
You can do it!! It may seem hard but the time will fly by and you will come out on the other side just fine!! The time between SOAR and Graduation is just a few days, you will see!
