Transferring Files with WinQVT on TTUMIS

Download the Adobe PDF version for printing. You will need the free Acrobat Reader to view and print the file.

To download a file to your computer from TTUMIS:

  1. From the Main menu, type util and press [ENTER]

  2. From the Util menu, type kermit and press [ENTER]

  3. At the Enter disk and directory prompt, press [ENTER] to download a file from your own directory. Otherwise, type disk$adminuser:[username] and press [ENTER] to retrieve a file from a different directory
                 Example:    disk$adminuser:[abc1234]
                             disk$adminuser:[mmp8765]
    

  4. At the C-Kermit> prompt, type server and press [ENTER]

  5. Next, select Transfer­Download­Kermit Get from the menu bar

  6. If the file is an ASCII text file, select Text, otherwise select Binary

  7. The default directory for downloads is C:\WINQVT. To save the file in a different directory, edit the entry in Directory

  8. Click in the Filename box, and type the name of the file you wish to download
     
          Example:     me33301.prn
                       eng102.dis
    

  9. Click on Start; note that the button changes to "Minimize"

  10. When the download is complete, the Minimize button will change to OK!

  11. Click OK! and press [ENTER]

  12. Select Transfer­Kermit Finish from the menu bar

  13. At the C-Kermit> prompt, type util and press [ENTER]

To upload a file from your computer to TTUMIS:

  1. From the Main menu, type util and press [ENTER]

  2. From the Util menu, type kermit and press [ENTER]

  3. At the Enter disk and directory prompt, press [ENTER] to upload a file from your directory. Otherwise, type disk$adminuser:[username] and press [ENTER]
     
     Example:     disk$adminuser:[abc1234]
                  disk$adminuser:[mmp8765]
    
    

  4. At the C-Kermit> prompt, type server and press [ENTER]

  5. Next, select Transfer­Upload­Kermit from the menu bar

  6. If the file is an ASCII text file, select Text, otherwise select Binary

  7. Click in the Filename box, and type the name of the file you wish to send. If the file is in a different subdirectory, you will need to enter that information also.

     Example:     myinfo.doc
                  c:\data\list.txt
                  c:\wp\document\letter.txt
    

  8. Click on Start; note that the button changes to "Minimize"

  9. When the upload is complete, the Minimize button will change to OK!

  10. Click OK! and press [ENTER]

  11. Select Transfer­Kermit Finish from the menu bar

  12. At the C-Kermit> prompt, type quit and press [ENTER]
