Undergraduate Programs

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Tennessee Tech offers a core undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, combining rigorous academics, hands-on projects and real-world problem solving to prepare graduates for leadership in the engineering profession. Students build a strong foundation in mathematics, science, engineering mechanics, and design while developing expertise in infrastructure, construction, environmental systems, and sustainable development. You can also develop focused expertise by opting for a concentration.

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering:

Additional areas of interest or specialization are also offered in infrastructure material science and engineering, structural mechanics, structural engineering, and transportation engineering.

The Road to Success.

Civil engineering student working in the fieldThe $20 trillion U.S. economy relies on a vast network of infrastructure—roads and bridges, shipping ports, electrical grids, and water supply, to name a few. As the world seeks more sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions to build new infrastructure and update existing systems, civil and environmental engineers are in high demand. Our students participate extensively in co-ops, and internships, getting real-world experience in the field, and our graduates are known by employers for being “career ready.” A degree in civil and environmental engineering from Tech will give you a solid start in a career in service to society.
