Feb. 1, 2012  7:30 p.m.   KNOXVILLE BRASSWORKS COMPANY   Wattenbarger Auditorium
The Knoxville Brassworks Company is comprised of five of the most highly regarded brass performers and teachers in east Tennessee.  Their growing reputation for performance excellence beyond Tennessee is evident with their appearance as the featured guest brass ensemble for the 2010 New York Summer Music Festival at Oneonta.  The members are graduates of leading music schools and conservatories in the United States and have performed with numerous professional orchestras and brass ensembles across the U.S.  Their innovative programming includes repertoire ranging from compositions by today's most talented composers to masterworks from the Renaissance and Baroque.

Feb. 4, 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.    Workshops and classes given by Dr. Garner-Santa on flute performance and pedagogy with a concert at 1:00 p.m
Dr. Garner-Santa is an artist performer/teacher who will present a concert of music representing various national and stylistic periods of music. The program will assert the value of quality chamber music while exposing the audience to important compositions from around the world.

11:00 a.m. Meet the Artist; 7:30 p.m. Concert   
The Utterstrom Quintet is a novel combination of instruments and sounds including electric trombone, turntables and more.  This is a one of a kind eperience.

Dan Forest is a well respected choral composer who will write a piece of music for the Tech Chorale to be featured in the concert.

April 15, 2012   THE PREMIER OF THREE PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE COMPOSITIONS BY THREE AMERICAN COMPOSERS

          Concert  Wattenbarger Auditorium      
Three American Composers, Christopher Deane, Dr. Paul Lansky and Dr. Blake Tyson will compose a composition to be premiered by members of the TTU Percussion Ensemble.  In addition, the composers will be on campus as part of a three-day residency to discuss their careers/work with musicians and composers, as well as present lectures.

Robert Swan is a concert is a concert pianist whose artistry has created an internationally renowned career.  Even before his solo recital debut in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City and London's Wigmore Hall, he was performing throughout the United States as recitalist and as soloist with major orchestras.  Dr. Swan performed at the White House with Eugene List and several other pianists during the Carter Administration.  He has performed in London, England; Taipei, Taiwan; and Seoul, Korea.  The London Times called him "A performer of boldness and strength."  Dr. Swan has music degrees from the two most prestigious music conservatories in the United States, Eastman School of Music and The Juilliard School, and was awarded the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Arizona.  He is on the International Baldwin Artist Roster.
