Welcome to the Home Page for the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tennessee Technological University. Our Department offers both a B.S. and M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering as well as a College-level Ph. D. The hallmark of our program is the use of student-centered pedagogy that focuses on hands-on learning as well as ample research opportunities for all students, from Freshman-level to Ph. D.-level...and anyone in between. We encourage you to explore the website to learn more about our program.
Tech Freshmen explore Chemical Engineering concepts with Rube Goldberg machines
Rube Goldberg machines are elaborate devices that use a chain reaction of events to complete a simple task. Popular in cartoons, they are uncommon in real life. Teams of freshmen worked all semester to design them.
“Engineers love to build,” said Holly Stretz, TTU chemical engineering professor. “Real-world problem solving starts by recognizing that the things you have already experienced in life can be useful for some new function, and engineering and science teaches you to look at the world around you in whole new ways.”

Meet Nemoy Rau-AICHE's featured young professional of the year!
Ever wonder how our graduates are doing out in the real world? In an interview with CHEneccted, this TTU graduate discusses his profession, challenges he faces everyday, & the all important question-how many Chemical Engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
