Chemistry for the Life Sciences
for
Nursing Students
Syllabus:
This general chemistry course will focus on chemical concepts and applications for students entering applied medical fields. The first half of the course will deal with chapters 1 through 9 in the text. The second half of the course will cover general principles of organic chemistry, which applies to biochemistry and general concepts of biochemistry, and some selected biochemical pathways.
Chemistry 1210 will cover in one term what was covered in 1010 & 1020 in two terms, however, the material in this course will be more focused on relevant material to the nursing field, and not on the environmental aspects of chemistry.
