About the Chemistry Department

Welcome to the TTU Department of Chemistry! Our department is one of the fastest growing chemistry departments in the State of Tennessee . We currently have more than 300 students enrolled in various pre-professional, baccalaureate and graduate programs. This past year, we graduated 34 chemistry majors, eight of which were ACS certified degrees. Four students received Masters degrees and two received the PhD in Environmental Science.

A Carnegie Doctoral/STEM Intensive University, TTU offers 44 undergraduate programs and 23 programs of graduate study at master's and doctoral levels. In Chemistry, we are developing new and innovative programs in areas of our strategic interest and strength that will help develop the technically skilled workforce required in areas of national need. We don't offer “fluff” degrees that won't land you a job, that's why when we say “We'll take you there,” we mean it. Our ratings in alumni satisfaction, the highest of any in the state of Tennessee , justify our university slogan.
