Jumpstart Chemistry Course 1000

 

Course Description: Chemistry 1000 (Jumpstart Chemistry) will improve the math-in-chemistry skills required for successful completion of either the Chem 1110/1120 or Chem 1010/1020 general chemistry sequence offered by TTU. These courses are typically required for STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), as well as many other majors on campus. Emphasis will be placed on improving math and critical thinking skills, as well as developing study skills required for success in college.

Chemistry Survival Skills, by Margaret Brault (Houghton Mifflin College Div)

Time: Class will begin at 7:30 a.m. Attendance is required. Unannounced Attendance quizzes may occasionally be given. Some of the material may not be in your text.

Having completed Chemistry 1000, a student should be able to:

1. Have a greater understanding of the use of algebra in general science courses.

2. Have a greater understanding of how critical-thinking and study skills will impact their college coursework.

3. Have a stronger foundation in chemical knowledge from which they will more successfully build upon in general chemistry.
