Therapy Pre-Professional Program
Currently, there is more variation in the academic requirements for admission into the different physical therapy professional schools than for the other health science programs. All of the five physical therapy professional programs in Tennessee now offer a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. One of the schools still offers a Masters degree in physical therapy. Some of these require a B.S. degree prior to admission and others will accept students into their program after three years of undergraduate work. All have a list of specific courses that must be completed prior to admission, some also require the Graduate Records Exam (GRE) and work experience. Having already earned a B.S. degree makes one more competitive in the application pool in any of these situations. For specific academic requirements for admission into one of these professional programs, contact one of the pre-professional advisors at Tennessee Tech or check the web site for the professional school.
