Some Hints on How to Study
Are your study habits working for you? 

For detailed and helpful suggestions on how to study and for working numerical
problems, go to the Tennessee Tech library and check out the book "Math
Survival Guide", by Jeffrey R. Appling (QA 11 .A664 1994).

Here are some common sense outline of things mentioned in his book that may
help you.


1. Read your textbook, taking notes.

2. Go to every class period.

3. Take notes in lecture.

4. Do your homework. 

5. Stay ahead of your instructor. 

6. Take advantage of your instructor's office hours.

7. Find an undistracted place to study. 

8. Don t try to cram. 

9. Study with others. 

10. Balance your extracurricular activities with studying. 

11. Give yourself trial exams.
