In his book The Courage to Teach, Parker Palmer writes, “If a work is mine to do, it will make me glad over the long haul, despite the difficult days. Even the difficult days will ultimately gladden me, because they pose the kinds of problems that can help me grow in a work if it is truly mine.” Teaching, reading, writing, thinking, learning are facets of Shannon Collins’s work at Tennessee Technological University that especially gladden him. An Associate Professor of Language and Literacy Education, Shannon’s primary responsibility is teaching undergraduate literacy courses. Shannon’s goal is to develop his learners as readers and writers so they may go on to develop children and adolescents as readers and writers. Shannon also directs the Upper Cumberland Writing Project.

Dr. Holly Anthony teaches math content courses (MATH 1410, MATH 1420) for preservice elementary teachers, and mathematics methods courses (SEED 4122, SEED 4422) for preservice secondary mathematics teachers.
