Titans Controller speaks to Accounting Club

Ms. Jeneen Kaufman, CPA, Controller of the Tennessee Titans and Chief Financial Officer of the Nashville Kats, recently spoke to the Accounting Club at Tennessee Tech. During her visit, Ms. Kaufman conducted a drawing and gave away an NFL football autographed by Titans quarterback Vince Young and worth several thousand dollars. Leslie Berry of Kingsport was the lucky recipient.

Shown in the picture are student officers of the Tennessee Tech Accounting Club along with Ms. Kaufman. Computer forensic lab helps TTU's Doc Wells catch criminals

He'll admit he's never solved a crime in 50 minutes like they do on every television version of CSI, but Stuart "Doc" Wells runs his own computer forensic lab with the same professionalism and passion as the dramas portray.

The Tennessee Tech decision sciences and management professor also serves as chief deputy for the Putnam County Sheriff's Reserve, and those dual responsibilities allow him to catch criminals and teach students how he does it. The results bring a boon for law enforcement, plus a full-classroom every semester for his computer forensics class.

    Quillen retires after six years

Pat Quillen, our college’s Development Director is retiring from the university at the end of this year, and we wanted to recognize him for the past six years of dedicated service to the college. During Pat’s time here, our annual giving has increased from about $200,000 per year to more than double that amount, our endowments have expanded from $7 million to over $12 million. And we embarked on a Johnson Hall renovation effort that has resulted in gifts or pledges of more than $1.3 million.

Pat's legacy is not just in the numbers, but in the very professional manner in which he sought to improve the private support for the college. Pat lets our prospective donors know of our needs and works with them at their desired pace. When people have a desire to give, Pat has been there to show them how their gift is an investment in our students and the college.

Before graduating from the college in 1963, Pat spent many years around the campus when his dad, Malcolm “Mutt” Quillen, was coach and/or dean of students. Since returning, his involvement with such organizations as the Bryan Symphony Orchestra demonstrates his commitment to improving the community. We wish Pat and his wife, Donna, the best with both this new stage of their lives and their continued involvement in our community.
