Basic Business Concept

When you enroll in the College of Business at Tennessee Tech University, you will begin your studies in the Basic Business Curriculum. This program was organized to ensure that you receive thorough and properly sequenced preparation for your upper-division business courses.

These first two years of courses include general educational disciplines including:

  • Humanities/Fine Arts
  • Natural Science
  • Mathematics
  • Economics
  • Communications
  • English
  • American History
  • Non-business electives

The program also emphasizes the following foundation business requirements:

  • Accounting
  • Economics
  • Computer Applications

Once you have completed these basic requirements with a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (a C average) or higher, you will declare one of the nine business majors for the completion of your bachelor's degree.
