BusinessMedia Center

The BusinessMedia Center at Tennessee Technological University was formed to provide regional businesses, industries, and organizations with state-of-the-art multimedia tools and training. 

Services

The BusinessMedia Center provides multimedia technology along with innovative strategies to solve traditional business challenges.  The staff assists clients in the use of multimedia tools for training, marketing, and other business functions.

Staff in the BusinessMedia Center utilize the latest state-of-the-art hardware and software systems in providing its clients services.  In addition to the center's project coordinators, the client's team will include students assigned to projects based on their technical and functional expertise.  This team will work closely with the client from the initial proposal to the project's completion, assuring the client's particular needs are met.

Approach

The center's infrastructure includes both permanent and mobile studios for producing high-quality multimedia materials. The center's team will analyze the needs of the client and develop a multimedia solution to meet those needs.

The BusinessMedia Center developed the nation's first virtual business incubator involving entrepreneurs at satellite incubator sites.  Over 100 entrepreneur tenants have been assisted in learning how to use multimedia tools and technologies to begin or improve their businesses.

Performance

Examples of recent BusinessMedia Center projects include:

• Utility-sponsored county economic development marketing program

• Multimedia (CD-ROM and print) recruiting materials for university

• Employee training CD-ROM (in multiple languages) for manufacturing operation

• Multimedia (CD-ROM, print, and web) marketing package for automotive parts supplier

• Virtual tour CD-ROMs for private and non-profit organization (example: hospital)

• Internet start-up assistance for small businesses

• Training programs using multimedia technology for individuals and businesses
