Biography
Michael Hernandez received a BFA in glass from Emporia State University in Kansas in 2003. His work has been exhibited nationally. Michael has studied and/or worked at Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Craft, Pratt Fine Arts Center and the Museum of Glass.

Artist Statement
My interest and pursuit of art and form began with an introduction to glass. I was immediately turned on by the pace and physicality of the process.

Elements of design in my work directly stem from the application of a chosen technique. The refined quality and crispness of the glass is achieved through experience and perseverance - acquired over years of trial-and-error, experimentation and repetition.
