| Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree
The BFA degree
features a contemporary approach to fine craft built on traditional
techniques. We prepare our students for professional careers in
clay,
fibers, glass,
metals and
wood. They become
proficient in the materials, processes, and techniques used by professional
craft artists, and develop confidence in the use of tools and equipment
in a studio environment.
The measure of accomplishment is the BFA thesis exhibition, requiring
high standards of professionalism in preparation, design and execution.
The ultimate reflection of accomplishment is our students' consistent
record of success beyond graduation.
Accredited by the National Association
of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and the Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
Students attend general education and art foundation
courses on the main campus of Tennessee
Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee (approximately
25 minutes east of the Craft Center; free
shuttle service available for students).
