The Cultivation of Chance: New Work by Trish Ramsay
Metal
October 5 - November 9
Gallery Two
Trish Ramsay’s new work has become increasingly concerned with events taking place upon a surface or within a shallow space.
Wall installations are derived from her drawings (blind contours of observed landscape, doodles and geometric drawing exercises). Ramsay became interested in repetitive patterning while traveling in India, it was at this time she began to study and collect textiles.
Ramsay’s current body of work consists of steel wire, rayon and wool. She teaches metalsmithing at Columbus State University in Columbus, GA.
