Holiday Festival 2011: November 25, 26 & 27

VISIT & SHOP in the gallery and special exhibitions to choose gifts from a wide selection of items by Craft Center and regional artists. Relax as you shop by sipping spiced cider and listening to soothing sounds by acoustic guitarist Rob Ring. Have someone hard to buy for? Gallery gift cards are also available.
NEW FOR 2011! MINI WORKSHOPS
Experience the fun of making gifts for the people on your Christmas list, or better yet, for yourself!
The Holiday Festival Mini Workshops are sponsored by the FACCT (Friends of the Appalachian Center for Craft), and the proceeds from the mini workshops will go to support FACCT’s Educational Outreach Programs. The Outreach Program enables 5th-12th grade students to come to the Craft Center for a day of hands on classes and demonstrations.
Class Descriptions
Formed Copper Jewelry
$20 per set
Using the Egyptian spiral technique, students will learn to form components of copper wire needed for a bracelet, pendant and one pair of earrings. Sterling silver ear wires and leather cording with clasp included.
Glass Bead Making
$20
Students will learn the basic techniques in glass bead making to make beads for use in a necklace and one pair of earrings. Sterling silver ear wires and leather cording with clasp included.
Marbling a Scarf
$20
Students will learn the art of marbling on silk using a stylus and paint to produce patterns on a single crepe de chine scarf. Please see photo for an example of what you can do!
Dates & Times
Mini Workshop classes will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 25, 26, & 27.
No experience is necessary, and all materials are included in the cost of each class.

Daily: 11 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. during the Festival

Registration
No pre-registration available.
Registration begins each day of the Holiday Festival at 10 a.m. and will continue until 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Craft Center’s Administration Building.

2011 FEATURED ORNAMENTS (pictured above): These hand-blown glass ornaments were made by ACC Glass student Bradford Smith and are available for purchase in the gallery. The wire sculpture was designed by ACC Fibers student William Billy George
