About
the Fibers Program
The fibers program lays the foundation for careers
in surface design and weaving. Students develop technical proficiency
and creative design skills while learning traditional and contemporary
fibers processes, including a wide variety of methods for fabric
dyeing/patterning, fabric manipulation, floor loom weaving, and
other related fibers processes.
“With emphasis on exploration and experimentation,
close interaction with the professor, the resident artist and visiting
artists, students are encouraged to develop a body of work well-grounded
in technical proficiency and creative ideas.” – Jeanne
Brady
