Introduction to Hand Spinning

Experience the joy of spinning your own yarn. Learn or reintroduce yourself to the basics of spinning on a wheel. Use beautiful wool from local sheep; spin a “singles” and a plied yarn. More advanced techniques for designing novelty yarns are demonstrated. Beginning-Intermediate; Materials Fee $65 (estimated cost of a pound of wool), payable to instructor

Claudia Lee has been teaching and spinning yarn for weaving and knitting projects for 35 years. She is the proprietor of Liberty Paper Mill, a working and teaching studio.

Joyce Sievers, MA in Art History, has studied book arts and related subjects at prominent craft schools since 1981. She exhibits in group and solo shows.
