Wood Studio

About the Wood Studio
The wood program offers a strong foundation in woodworking and furniture making. The course is composed of a series of  8 classes that focus on different aspects of woodworking and design.

Each semester concentrates on one of the primary furniture forms, tables, cabinets and chairs, while at the same time, the major technical areas, joinery, bending, shaping and finishing are studied and practiced. Smaller assignments based on secondary furniture forms focus on the specialist areas of veneer, inlay, structure, and production. Special problem classes in turning, technical drawing and hand tools, round out the curriculum.

The program is enriched by a full time Artist in Residence, visiting artists, the workshop program, and studio visits.
