CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates in the Management Information Systems (MIS) option hold
a variety of positions in business, industry and government services.
Among those positions and careers, we have graduates employed in
general management, computer programming, business system analysis
and design, user training and education, computer software/hardware
sales, computer store management, microcomputer specialists, database
management, EDP auditing, business consulting services, data communications,
and office automation system.
MIS majors are
in tremendous demand. MIS is considered a top career field for salary,
work environment and career advancement.

The national average yearly salary for students graduating in the
curriculum of Management Information Systems is $44,417.

WHAT IS MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS?
The Management Information Systems option of the Business Management
degree prepares students for various careers in the area of business
information systems. The curriculum is characterized by an emphasis
on analytical methods for business problem solving, information technology
applications and business systems design and implementation.

Students interested in a career in business computing and information
systems may join this organization. In general, Business Management,
Option BUIN (Management Information Systems) students comprise the
majority of the membership, but freshman, sophomore, junior, and
senior business students are encouraged to join. Membership fees
include $25 national dues and $10 local dues.
