American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS)
Advisor: Dr. Ramachandran Natarajan

APICS, the Educational Society for Resource Management, is open to any student interested in Production and Operations Management. Student members may attend the Upper Cumberland professional chapter's monthly meetings. Mentoring opportunities with local area professionals are also provided. Full-time students may become national members and receive APICS publications with payment of $20 national dues. The UC Parent Chapter also funds a scholarship.

 

The Association of InformationTechnology Professionals (AITP)
Advisor: Dr. F. Stuart Wells

Students interested in a career in business computing and information systems may join this organization. In general, Business Management, Option BUIN (Management Information Systems) students comprise the majority of the membership, but freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior business students are encouraged to join. Membership fees include $25 national dues and $10 local dues.

 

Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM)
Advisor: Dr. Rodley Pineda

Any freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior student interested in business management may become a member. The club focuses on the professional development of its members through activities such as guest lectures, fund-raisers, and social events. Campus recruitment occurs primarily in the fall, but students may join at anytime. Annual membership fees include $35 national and local dues.

 

Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
Advisor: Dr. Christine Miller

SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management, is open to all students interested in the Human Resource Management field. Full time students may become national members and receive SHRM publications for a fee of $35 national dues.
