Assessment and Accreditation Committee: This committee is responsible for all planning and documentation essential for the continued ABET accreditation of the ECE undergraduate programs. Detailed assessment plans are to be updated, implemented, results are to be analyzed and program/curriculum changes are to be proposed to the Undergraduate Program Committee. This committee is also to develop methods and procedures to encourage engineering student participation in and success on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination. This committee is also charged with overseeing the course evaluation process.
BSEE Program Committee: This committee is responsible for reviewing all proposed curriculum and programmatic changes for the BSEE degree program, preparing documentation, and making recommendations for approval to the full faculty. The committee is expected to involve all affected faculty and emphasis areas in any proposed changes, and where possible, to resolve any conflicts or issues before approving such proposed changes. This committee also works with the Assessment & Accreditation Committee to ensure that all propose d curricular changes are consistent with all applicable accreditation criteria. Additionally, the committee is to implement the recruitment and retention plan for undergraduate EE students, as well as developing and maintaining a vibrant senior capstone design course and improving undergraduate research and co-op/internship opportunities for students.
BSCmpE Program Committee: This committee is responsible for reviewing all proposed curriculum and programmatic changes for the BSCMPE degree program, preparing documentation, and making recommendations for approval to the full faculty. The committee is expected to involve all affected faculty and emphasis areas in any proposed changes, and where possible, to resolve any conflicts or issues before approving such proposed changes. This committee also works with the Assess. & Accredit. Committee to ensure t hat all proposed curricular changes are consistent with all applicable accreditation criteria. Additionally, the committee is to implement the recruitment and retention plan for undergraduate COMPE students, as well as developing and maintaining a vibrant senior capstone design course and improving undergraduate research and co-op/internship opportunities for students.
Graduate Programs Committee: This committee is responsible for reviewing all proposed curriculum and programmatic changes for the MS and PhD degree programs, preparing documentation, and making recommendations for approval to the full faculty. The committee is expected to involve all affected faculty and emphasis areas in any proposed changes, and where possible, to resolve any conflicts or issues before approving such proposed changes. This committee also works with the Assess. & Accredit. Committee to ensure t hat all proposed curricular changes are consistent with all applicable periodic review criteria. The committee will also continue planning the enhancement of graduate programs in the department. Additionally, the committee is to implement the recruitment and retention plan for graduate students. This committee is also charged with promoting and supporting research and scholarly activities of the faculty. The committee is to identify, develop and lead efforts directed toward the establishment of research centers, new focus areas and initiatives, and strategic faculty recruiting. The committee is also charged with the responsibility for developing and coordinating the ECE Dept. graduate/faculty/guest seminar series each semester.
Scholarship Committee: This committee is responsible for soliciting applications and making recommendations for the awarding of available scholarships to current and incoming students. This committee is also requested to assist with the implementation of an overall plan for recruiting students. A major focus should be on recruiting top quality students. Efforts should be made to collaborate with the University Honors program, with the goal of providing a package to top students that will attract them to TTU. In all cases, special attention should be given to the goal of increased diversity among our student body, with consideration given to individuals who come from groups that are underrepresented in the ECE profession, such as women, African-Americans, individuals who are first generation college students, individuals who come from rural farm families and individuals who have significant financial need. New student and faculty awards should be created and awarded on an every semester or annual basis.
Laboratories and Computers Committee: This committee is responsible for planning and implementing improvements in buildings, rooms, and equipment f or all space assigned to the ECE department for instructional purposes. This includes making recommendations to the full faculty for lab equipment and computer upgrades & purchases. This committee is also charged with identifying new lab funding sources, grant applications, etc.
