EMT-Basic/IV

There are several proposed changes coming from the State of TN Division of EMS. The State will be licensing at 3 levels. Those are EMT, Advanced EMT and Paramedic. TTU will start teaching each of those levels using the new curriculum in 2014. This EMT-IV will be the last one offered before the changes go into affect.

Start Date: August 12, 2013.

Ending Date: April 30, 2014.

Lecture hours: Monday and Wednesday nights for 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Clinical hours: 48 hours in EMS, 48 hours in the hospital. Dates to be scheduled with the clinical coordinator.

Prerequisites: Must be 18 years of age or older, academic high school diploma or GED, shall not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor, shall have a valid driver's license and have a current BLS Healthcare Provider Card (go to that page to get details of how to obtain that card)

Tuition: $1195.00 Fee includes the State of Tennessee skills manual,1 clinical shirt and liability insurance but does not include textbooks, rest of the clinical uniform, TTU parking permit , student photo ID, testing fees or any cost for immunization shots. The fee for this course must be paid at registration.

All classes are held in the Jere Whitson Building on the quadrangle of TTU in room JW131H.
