Engineering Development Friends
If you care about Tennessee Tech's reputation for excellence in engineering and technology education, and if you care about cutting edge research that will be the foundation for continued economic development in the United States -- and especially in Tennessee -- then you will be interested in the activities of the Engineering Development Friends (EDF) at Tennessee Tech.
Tennessee Tech University is the state's only technological university. That distinction is in large part due to the presence of the College of Engineering and the University's three engineering-related Centers of Excellence.
Area businesses find the expertise they need in TTU's campus research and development capabilities, while the workforce benefits from the University's quality engineering and technology graduates. We are presently enjoying record levels of research funding at Tennessee Tech, the lion's share of which supports College of Engineering projects and programs.
While the need for continuation of support from EDF members still remains, the current membership has recognized that more action is needed, given today's financial climate. The group has taken a giant leap forward, working to implement new initiatives directed at improving friend-raising and fund-raising efforts for the College of Engineering.
Toward that end, members are actively soliciting others in the community to join them in this worthy cause -- to strengthen an organization dedicated to securing the funds necessary for the College to grow, succeed and maintain academic quality.
To facilitate this process, we have placed the link to the University's gift form toward the left of your screen. There you can indicate what you feel is important and provide information for later procesing. Check back often to find the latest developments in the College of Engineering.
