Ph.D. Fellowships

For Fall 2014 up to 15 fully funded fellowships are available for at least three years in the following research areas:

Chemical Engineering

  • Modeling of electric field-based cancer treatment
  • Protein and Biological Engineering
  • Pyrolysis of Biomass (NSF funded)

Civil and Environmental Engineering

  • Structural health monitoring
  • Structural identification
  • Biological wastewater treatment and environmental microbiology

Computer Science

  • Cyber-security
  • Graph-Based Knowledge Discovery (NSF funded)

Electrical and Computer Engineering

  • Network security and privacy preservation
  • High-efficiency solar cells and battery research

Mechanical Engineering

  • Acoustic and vibration
  • Energy harvesting and sensing with smart materials
  • Hybrid-electric powertrain simulation and development

 

Students who wish to be considered for these fellowships must first apply to the graduate program and be accepted in full standing.  Applicants who qualify and meet Ph.D. admission criteria may submit the application for the fellowship to the Graduate Studies at the same time by filling the form provided here: http://www.tntech.edu/files/graduatestudies/ga_assistanship.pdf
