Call for Papers

The Department of English and Communications at Tennessee Technological University is requesting submissions for its 4^th annual English Studies Symposium:

English 2.0: Discoveries and Recoveries

Readings and presentations in all areas of English Studies are welcome.

Some suggested topics include:
Graphic Novels Teaching with Technology Non-Canonical Literature Fresh Approaches to the Canon Online Courses & Communication English Linguistics	Literature and Film Progressive Teaching Methods Children’s Literature Visual Texts Hypertext Composition Studies

Abstracts of about 200 words should be submitted through email to Elizabeth Robinson at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it by Monday, January 25, 2010. Participants will be notified of their acceptance by February 5, 2010.

Creative submissions are also welcome. Submit 1 copy of poetry or short fiction/nonfiction in a Word-compatible or pdf format. Selections should be suitable for a 20-minute reading. Creative submissions may be published or unpublished works. Manuscripts cannot be returned. 

The English Studies Symposium will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee. The event is designed to provide a forum for Graduate Students and Faculty, particularly Adjunct Faculty, to share their work in a conference setting.
