Frequently Asked Questions on Registration
Fall 2007

Regular Registration day is August 24, 2007

Q - How do I confirm my enrollment?
If your fees are fully covered by a scholarship, graduate assistantship, or other financial aid, you must still confirm your enrollment by the August 08, 2007 deadline in order to retain your schedule. Enrollment may be confirmed on Eagle Online, or by directly notifying a Business Office cashier (hours, 8:00 - 12:00, 1:00 - 3:30). Confirmations by mail must be received by the deadline. Failure to confirm enrollment by the deadline will result in schedule cancellation. Students who pay fees and confirm enrollment by the deadline but decide not to attend must withdraw by notifying the Office of Student Affairs, (931-372-3411 or FAX 931-372-6335).

To learn more about how to confirm your enrollment go to: http://www.tntech.edu/bursar/confirm_enrollment.html

Q - Where can I pick up my Excess Aid Check?
To see the full schedule of pick up times for Excess Aid Checks go to the Bursar's Office web site. You can also download the direct deposit form (pdf) and turn it into the Bursar's Office in order to have your excess financial aid direct deposited and save yourself the trouble of standing in line at all. You must have this form into the Bursar's Office by August 8th to receive your aid by direct deposit on August 31st.

Q - Where do I go to attend an Entrance Interview for Direct Loans?
If you wish to complete the Entrance Interview requirements on the WEB, you may do so at The Dept of Ed. Entrance Counseling Website . Just be sure to print out the quiz page, sign it and mail (or fax 931-372-6309) it to the Financial Aid Office to complete this particular loan requirement. If you have any questions regarding the entrance interviews please contact khammons@tntech.edu.

Q - How do I apply for a University Loan?
At the start of each semester, meetings for University Loans are held. Fall 2007 meetings will be held the week of Monday, August 27th through Friday August 31, at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in Room 371 of the Roaden University Center. You may only apply for a university loan in the amount of fees that you owe so that you may confirm your courses.

Understand that this is a meeting to complete the application and that you will need 2 co-signers for the promissory note that you may pick up from our receptionist after 1:00 p.m. the day after your application meeting. If you attend the afternoon session, you may pick up your promissory note the next morning after 9:30.

Remember to turn in your Promissory Note to the Loans Accounting Office in Derryberry Hall. Funds for these loans are limited. These loans must be repaid by October 1, 2007 If you have any further questions concerning the University Loan, or wish to apply for a university loan after the first week of the semester, please contact lphillips@tntech.edu.

Q - How do I get a SGA Book Loan?
SGA loans for a maximum of $150 will be available as long as funds last, beginning on Monday, August 27th, in the Financial Aid Office. Your fall schedule must be confirmed to apply. See our receptionist, Lita, for these applications. Next, complete your Promissory Note in the Loans Accounting Office in Derryberry Hall. These loans must be repaid no later than October 1, 2007.

Q - When & where may I pick up my work assignment?
On regular Registration day in the Mutli Purpose Room in the University Center. We're distributing the service and work contracts differently this year. Because of the number of students that need to pick up assignments, it is necessary to strictly adhere to a distribution schedule. We will be using the same schedule the Bursar's Office is using for Excess Aid check distribution. If you do not have a current I-9 card, you will need to present your Social Security Card and your drivers license. If you have any questions regarding your work assignment please contact pburns@tntech.edu.
