Grants
A grant is a type of financial aid that is "free money." It does not have to be repaid. There are two basic types of grants, federal and State of Tennessee grants. Eligibility for both types of grants is based on the results of the Student Aid Report, determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

An Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) is a federal award that does not have to be repaid.

A Pell Grant is a federal award that does not have to be repaid.

A SEOG Grant is a federal award that does not have to be repaid.

A SMART Grant is a federal award that does not have to be repaid.

The TSAA* grant is a state award that does not have to be repaid.

The Hope Lottery Scholarship* is a state award that does not have to be repaid.

*For both the TSAA grant and the Hope Lottery Scholarship, before we can actually give you the credit, we must have confirmation from the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation as to your actual eligibility. The amount of this award will be credited to your student account. However, adjustments may have to be made by our office to comply with state program regulations.
