| Financial
Aid HOLDS
Currently, there are two types of "Financial
Aid Holds" that prevent the disbursement of future financial
aid to a student's account with Tennessee Tech University. Both
occur due to a student’s lack of "Satisfactory
Academic Progress" for financial aid purposes,
explained in other sections of our web site. This is a situation
of serious concern to the federal and state governments that provide
so much of the aid received by students, and it deserves your closest
attention since the Financial Aid staff at TTU must follow the relevant
law to the letter.
HOLD1
This is generally because you have
stopped going to one or more of your classes for the past term,
and/or have not made satisfactory progress in the classroom to
keep your eligibility for financial aid. You must meet with the
Financial Aid Director in person to register any appeal. You will
automatically be in a "Financial Aid Probation" status
for your next term of attendance at TTU.
Group
meetings
If you have a HOLD1 on your account
and wish to file an appeal with our office, you must attend
a group meeting. You must attend one of the following meetings
if you wish to enroll in Fall 2005 courses. These meetings
last approximately 30 minutes and will be located in Room 371
in Roaden University Center. Your options will be discussed during the meeting.

HOLD2
You presently have TWO HOLDS on your
financial aid for future terms. Since this is a repeated hold
in regard to poor grades or non-attendance in class, you should
know that you will not be eligible for federal and state financial
aid due to a failure to make satisfactory academic progress for
financial aid purposes. AFTER YOU PAY FOR AT LEAST ONE
TERM (ON YOUR OWN) here or go to another school and improve
your grades WITH 12 CREDITS OF C’S OR BETTER, you may file
an appeal with us to have your aid eligibility reinstated.
