| General Assembly Merit Scholarship
(GAM)
A supplemental award of an additional $1,000
per year awarded for academic excellence. Any students eligible
for the Tennessee HOPE scholarship and enrolled in a program leading
to an associate or baccalaureate degree and meet the specified requirements.
Eligibility requirements:
- A student must be eligible for the Tennessee HOPE scholarship
award
If a student graduated from a Tennessee high school after
Dec. 1, 2003, a student must:
- Achieve a final unweighted high school GPA of at least 3.75
- Attain a composite ACT score of at least 29 on any single ACT
test date or a combined SAT score of at least 1280 on any single
SAT test date
- Attempt at least 24 credit hours at an eligible postsecondary
institution with a cumulative GPA of 2.75
- Maintain satisfactory progress
- Be admitted and enrolled in an eligible postsecondary institution
for the 2004-2005 academic year
If a student graduated from a home school or an ineligible
Tennessee high school, the student must also complete 12 hours college
credit with an overall 3.0 GPA.
