Q. How do I rent a locker?
For your convenience, the Fitness Center provides lockers in the
pool area. You may choose either free daily usage or rent a locker
by the semester for students or 5-or 12- months for members. A lock
should be placed on your locker to insure the security of your possessions.
If you choose daily usage, bring your workout gear and store in
a locker for the duration of that day's workout. Bring your own
lock or rent one for $.50 from the Equipment Room, located in the
main lobby. Long term rental is initiated in the Fitness Center's
main office, Room 118, Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. See the below table for pricing. A lock
is provided with this option.
Q. Do you supply towels to swimmers?
Towels are available at the Equipment Room, located
in the main lobby. Daily rental is $.50 per towel or a towel card
can be purchased in the main office, Room 118, Monday - Friday,
7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. A towel card gives unlimited towels for the
specified time.

Q. Do you have any fitness classes in the
pool?
Water fitness classes are offered for current students, members,
eligible non-members, as well as spouses, dependents, and guests of non-members.
Evening classes
as well as a senior citizen
morning class are available. To attend either one of
these, simply pay at the front desk and bring your receipt
to the pool for the fitness instuctor.
Q. Can
I leave my child in the pool while I workout in another area of
the building?
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or
guardian while swimming.
Q. Does the Fitness Center offer swim lessons?
TTU's Campus Recreation offers a variety of year-round swim lessons that
are taught by qualified TTU students.
Group swim lessons
for people ages 3 and up are scheduled each semester. Group lessons
consist of eight 45-minute sessions. These lessons are for current
TTU students, members, non-members, as well as spouses, dependents,
and guests. Class size is limited to give the swim student ample
practice time and individual attention.
Private swim lessons
are also available for people ages 3 and up and for current TTU
students, members, non-members, as well as spouses and dependents.
Private swim lessons consist of six 30-minute lessons.

Q. Is the pool inspected by the State Health
Department?
The State Health Department randomly inspects the pool. You may
view the current score sheet in the main office of the center, Room
118, Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Q. How do I find out the temperature
of the pool?
The pool staff strives to keep the temperature at 86 degrees. Over the years, we have found that this is the best compromise for all populations and for the diverse activities that take place in the pool. To see the current temperature, simply check the main web page of
the Fitness Center or the main Aquatics page. These pages are updated
Monday - Friday. If you need the temperature on the weekend, call
372-6215.
Q. Can I rent the pool?
The Fitness Center's pool is available to students with 6 or more
hours and members for parties. Rental includes designated
lanes, use of the patio for food and drinks, and a lifeguard. The
pool is available on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
- 4 p.m. and Sunday from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Party size is limited to
25.
To schedule a pool party, come to the Fitness Center's main office,
Room 118, Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., fill out the registration
form, and pay the appropriate non- returnable fee. Students with
6 or more hours and members pay $50 and eligible non-members pay
$65. Scheduling should be completed at least one week in advance.
