Freshman Orientation
UPDATE: SOAR Invitation letters will be mailed out to Fall 2012 admitted freshmen the first week of May 2012. Letters will be mailed out once a week to freshmen admitted after this period.
As a new college freshman, you might be asking, "How will I know who my advisor is?", "Where will my classes be?", "What will my classes be for the Fall?", and a multitude of others. The Office of Orientation and Student Success has created SOAR just for you. It's an opportunity to learn more about Tennessee Tech, meet your advisor, register for classes, meet new friends, and start your college career.
For new freshmen, SOAR is a two-day program that allows you to find answers to all of your questions while becoming familiar with the campus. At SOAR, students:
- Meet with advisors to plan their academic program,
- Learn about University Resources and Campus Life,
- Meet Tennessee Tech students, faculty, staff, and their new classmates,
- Register for Fall semester classes.
SOAR sessions are available for new incoming freshman students. All incoming freshman students are asked to reserve a SOAR session date and make plans to attend the entire list of SOAR events that are scheduled. To receive an invitation to SOAR, you'll need to be admitted to Tennessee Tech University for the Fall 2012 semester. Look for your SOARinvitation in your mailbox at the end of the Spring semester prior to your Fall start at TTU.
We're excited that you've chosen Tennessee Tech as your college family.
Prepare to spread your wings and fly as a Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle during SOAR 2012.
